Water Filter Output Calculator

Use our water filter table below to calculate the number of rinses / cost per rinse for different water filter systems. Just enter your starting water quality in PPM (parts per million), this can be measured using a TDS Meter and a glass of water from the tap. These numbers are a guide only as other factors such as non dissolved solids, fluctuations in water quality, flow rates, pressures, temperatures etc. will skew results.

Some filters work straight out the box, others may have an initial hardware cost, which is a one-off fee. We recommend choosing a filter system which best meets your needs, as all systems have pros and cons and there is no one size fits all.

Rinse Only (10L) / Cost per Wash Small Wash (125L) / Cost per Wash Large Wash (250L) / Cost per Wash
Cost for initial hardware setup. Replacement filter costs. Maximum volume of dissolved material removed. Number of uses and cost based on filter price only.

*BigBoi Resin Only - This is if you replace your Carbon/Resin Filters in your BigBoi system with Resin Only. Setup cost we have kept the same, as the hardware doesn't change. NOTE, doing this will give you better cost return for just a spot free finish, but other impurities such as chlorine will not be filtered out.

Our graph below also shows regardless of the water filter system, all follow a linear scale, double the “hardness” of the water, double the cost per rinse. From our experience, even though it is more expensive to filter hard water, the total benefits far out way the cost in reduced swirls/additional product costs.
