How Ed Used Our Products
Firstly, thank you for viewing my entry for “The Ultimate Finish” February competition, here are some products & methods I find work well & most importantly enjoy using.
So I start with wheels 1st which are cleaned with Valet Pro Bilberry. Using Meg’s All Purpose Cleaner & Valet Pro Sash Brush clean inside door shuts, under bonnet & boot & very carefully rinse using clean water in pump sprayer.
Then give the car a good covering of snow foam which is a mix of Ultimate Snow Foam & Valet Pro Ph neutral snow foam applied via snow foam lance with karcher pressure washer, whilst leaving to dwell (for 5-10 mins depending on weather to allow foam to lift/loosen dirt) using Valet Pro large sash brush gently brush around window seals, door handles fuel cap etc, then carefully pressure wash off, if excessively dirty will repeat process.
Then wash with Lambs Wool Wash Mitt using “2 bucket method” (Zaino buckets with grit guards), with Meguiars’s NXT car wash shampoo then rinse.
Next paintwork is carefully treated with Auto Smart Tardis to remove tar & any other contaminants then thoroughly rinsed.
Car Pro Ironx is applied to cleanse paintwork & glass of any ferrous contaminants again thoroughly rinsed after.
Zaino Z-18 clay bar & Dodo juice born slippy clay lube is used to clay paintwork/windows.
Again snow foam leave dwell & rinse.
Dry using large plush Micro fiber towel called woolly mammoth by Chemical guys
I then checked for swirl marks but as no amount of swirls were found no need to machine, so the use of Zaino Z-5 with Zaino ZFX flash Cure Accelerate added (to reduce cure time so multiple coats can be layered) Was applied with Zaino Custom Polish Applicator Pad, I applied 2/3 coats using Zaino Z6 between applications & finished with a couple of coats of Zaino Z-2.
I know a lot of people would argue that it’s not necessary to use with Zaino treatment & longevity may not be as good, but applying a coat of Swissvax Best Of Show is such a pleasure to use & certainly for me is the cherry on the cake, the gloss from this product is stunning, but for greater protection in winter would use Swissvax Shield instead.
Wheels are then removed, cleaned both sides with VP Bilberry, then Ironx, Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Wax is added after cleaning to protect again inside & out & tires treated with Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss.
On the outside of windscreen the Gtechniq G1 Clearvision screen kit is used.
Inside car is vacuumed, windows polished with Zaino Z-12 Glass Polish & maintained with Swissvax Crystal Window cleaner & products in Swissvax Leather care kit are used including leather cleaner, leather milk etc to clean/protect leather, on all other trim Swissvax Quick Interior Finish is used & finally Swissvax Seal Feed used on all rubber seal.
I would undertake this probably couple times a year, In spring ready for summer & autumn ready for winter & just maintain with Snow Foam, Wash & Z-6 Gloss Enhancer & top up wax each couple of months.
Phew!! Finished. Hope your still with me & not too bored, but once again thanks for taking time to view my entry.
Ps almost forgot engine never very dirty so quick wipe with Zaino Z-6 then Zaino ZCS to seal
